Description

In this workshop you will learn about ASSET which granted undocumented students in-state tuition in Colorado, and DACA which granted relief from deportation for undocumented youth nationwide. You will also hear about student’s life experiences as undocumented immigrants and the current fight against deportations. Come find out more and get the resources you need to become an ally and learn about the current immigration movement.

Cesiah Guadarrama

I was born in Morelos, Mexico and moved to Colorado when I was six years old. I am a senior majoring at MSU Denver majoring in Political Science and minoring in Women Studies. During my last four years at MSU Denver I have had the opportunity to work for First Year Success, the Center for Urban Education and I currently serve as a Senator with MSU Denver’s Student Government Assembly.

I started my path as an activist in 2011 by actively advocating the passage of Colorado ASSET which granted undocumented students in-state tuition. I have also been very active with DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals).

I am a very active member in my church and my community. My mother is my greatest inspiration. I have two younger brothers, I am the oldest. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and I am a proud Coloradan.
