Diversity Councils as Collaborative Spaces: Bringing Students, Faculty, and Staff Together to Action

September 21 @ 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM

Using the example of the Council on Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Colorado Denver, this session has two goals: highlighting the important work of Diversity and Inclusion Councils and exploring the accomplishments of regular collaboration among faculty, students, and staff. It is unusual among university committees to have all three constituencies represented together. Applying this exemplar, Diversity and Inclusion committees can model inclusive excellence in collaborative projects for advocacy and action across the university. Participants in the session will take away ideas regarding how faculty, students, and staff can expand work together on diversity and inclusion projects.
