HEDS 365 presents ArtAbility
ArtAbility celebrates and showcases the talent and art of individuals with disabilities. We are looking for work from artists with a wide-range of disabilities. Auraria campus students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to submit work for inclusion in the exhibit.
ArtAbility will be presented at the HEDS 2017 conference on April 21, 2017 in the King Center on the Auraria Campus. The exhibit will be showcased throughout the conference with a reception with featured artist and conference speakers from 4:30-5:00 pm.
Information for the Call for Submission from Auraria Campus Artists:
ArtAbility at HEDS invites Auraria Campus Artists to submit artwork for an exhibition that will represent artists making work that addresses disability, access, diversity and intersectionality.
Submission process: Individuals wishing to submit work for inclusion in the ArtAbility exhibit need to submit a photo(s) of the work to be considered. Photos taken on a cell phone are sufficient.
Guidelines for art:
– 2D work: 25 x 25 inches max.
– 3D work: 25 inches max in all directions.
Artists will be asked to submit an artist statement that includes a reflection on how ability/disability influences their work.
Photos of art should be emailed to Melissa Cermak at email@example.com by Wed., April 12. Artists selected for inclusion in the exhibit will be notified by Friday, April 14 with work submitted between April 17-19. Art will be exhibited for a one-day show on Friday, April 21.
