The Higher Education Diversity Summit Steering Committee invites you to submit a proposal for the 2016 Higher Education Diversity Summit. One of the hallmarks of the Summit is that the sessions are interactive and applicable to real life. We encourage all proposals to align with this tradition, have a theoretical, practical, and/or research focus, and connect to the Summit’s theme, “How Did We Get Here?”.

The 2016 Summit will be guided by four content areas:

Generalist: Diversity, Social Justice and Inclusive Excellence
Accessibility Issues in Higher Education
LGBTQ Issues in Higher Education
Community Colleges & Two-year Institutions

There are two proposal types being accepted for the 2016 Summit:

Poster: allows for interactive discussions with Summit attendees about the practices and/or research related to the respective content areas. Information being conveyed is displayed on poster boards. Posters will be displayed Friday at the Summit and Closing Reception for engagement and dialogue. (Displaying on April 14 & 15, 2016)

Session/Workshop: 75 minute sessions that take the form of a workshop, panel, research paper presentations or informative sessions that engage participants. We encourage creative methods for presenting information and/or interactive activities. (Presenting on April 15, 2016)

The last day to submit proposals is February 29, 2016. Each proposal will be peer reviewed and feedback from reviewers will be sent to the lead presenter.
